Linda (Guest) Grady, 79, of Halifax, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Veterans Memorial Building. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of William and Ruth Guest.

Linda attended King's College and Dalhousie University in Halifax, earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education, and went on to teach elementary school for 33 years, retiring in 2001. She touched the lives of countless students with her kindness, patience, and love of learning.

A longstanding and devoted member of Bethany United Church, she shared her love of music through the choir and handbell choir. Music was central to Linda’s life, having grown up in a very musical family. She played the piano and drums and enjoyed learning new instruments, including the guitar and ukulele. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing in a music group at Calvin Presbyterian Church and often made music with her brother Bill, performing at dances and making recordings.

More recently, Linda played piano for services at St. Vincent’s Guest Home and, even while a patient at the Veterans Memorial Building, brought joy to others by playing Christmas carols on the piano in the common area.

She also found pleasure in reading, knitting, and crocheting, lovingly creating many handmade items for her family, friends, and church.

Above all, Linda was a very proud grandmother who cherished time spent with her grandson and took great joy in watching him grow and thrive in school, church, and Taekwon-Do.

Linda is survived by her husband, David Grady of 19 years; her daughter, Amy-Sue Bowers; her son-in-law, Shawne Bowers; her beloved grandson, Mason Bowers; her brother, Bill Guest; nieces; and extended family. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Ruth Guest.

The family extends their sincere thanks to Linda’s doctors and healthcare providers for their care, kindness, and support over the years.
