Mark A. ‘Mac’ Kelland

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Mac Kelland, age 76, on December 24, 2025, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Mark and Nora Kelland.
Mac was employed with Devco for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed walking, playing darts, listening to music and watching the Montreal Canadiens, especially spending time with his family.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Sheila ‘Peg’ (MacIntosh) Kelland; son, Ellis (Hope)Kelland; two grandchildren, Mark Kelland (Raechelle) and Kyle Kelland; one sister, Pauline Kelland as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth ‘Sis’ Kelland and Muriel ‘Mib’ Vokey; brothers, Ellis, Charles ‘Butch’ and Don.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
Donations in Mac’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
