Susan O’Brien, 59
Glace Bay, N.S.
It is with deep heartache that we the children of Susan O’Brien,59, of Glace Bay, announce her passing on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Susie Warren.
In moms’ younger years she enjoyed playing baseball and hanging around Quarry Road with her friends. She graduated from Morrison High School. She had numerous jobs, but her proudest moment was when she went back to school and became a CCA, work she continued up until her illness. Even while mom was in hospital, she was always trying to help others when she could. Mom was always there for anyone who needed her and she had a heart of gold.
Mom’s pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Carter and Charlotte, and the love they had for each other was immeasurable. Mom enjoyed spending time with her partner Steve, whether that be going for a drive or just hanging out at home. She loved spending time in her garden and tending to her house plants as well. And we can not forget her fur babies, dog Cody and two cats Charlie and Luna, who she loved so much.
Susan is survived by a son, Brandon O’Brien, and daughter, Candace (Brady) Lush; her two grandchildren, Carter Lush and Charlotte Lush; her loving partner, Steven MacMullin; brother, Angus (Brenda) Warren, and two sisters, Marie Clarke, and Ann (Dan) Brennan; Susan is also survived by her friend and father of her children Darcy (Barb) O’Brien and Several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by both parents, Edgar and Susie Warren, brothers, Leroy, Henry, and Austin Warren and brother-in-law, George Clarke.
Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 12-2 p.m.
Donations may be made to The Cape Breton Cancer Centre and/or Palliative Care.
