It’s with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Shirley Schnare, of Halifax on December 18, 2025, at the age of 94.

Shirley loved living in Hacketts cove with her with daughter and son-in-law and spending her weekends and summers in Indian Point. Shirley always looked forward to her annual trips to Cape Breton and greatly enjoyed making puzzles on her tablet.

Shirley will lovingly be remembered by her daughter, Brenda (Brian); son, Stephen; Daughter-in-law, Wendy; grandchildren, Ashley, Brain (Melanie), Jennifer, Heather (Shane), Tina; great grandchildren, Brittany, Damien, Ryan, Hailey, Isaac, Evan, Austin, Mitchell, Janessa; brother, Douglas; sister, Betty Lou (Bill); sister-in-law, Veronica; brother-in-law, Carl; and the rest of her family and friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband, Douglas; sons, Brian & Gerald; siblings, Carol-Ann, Sonny, Blossom, and Nancy; parents, Vera and Wallace; daughter-in-law, Hilda.

A special thank you to Shoreham Village for making her final days peaceful and loving.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
