Kenneth "Kenny" Vincent Boutilier Obituary

Kenneth Vincent Boutilier, 49

Port Caledonia, N.S.

We the family, of Kenneth Vincent Boutilier of Port Caledonia, are heartbroken to have to announce his passing at home, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Born in Glace Bay, Kenny was the son of Wayne and Winnie (Saccary) Boutilier.

Kenny’s greatest achievements in his life were his children. He worked with the Plumbers/Pipefitters and Welding Union 682, then proceeded to Alberta 488 Union. Kenny then took a job with Donkin Mine to be closer to his children, and this is when he took sick in 2019. While out West, Kenny was known as “Caper,” always taking a piece of home with him wherever he went. While out west, Kenny started his own Mobile Welding Service and this brough him much joy.

He enjoyed hockey, playing many years starting in Glace Bay Minor Hockey, then moving on to play GB High School Panther Hockey until graduation. Kenny very much loved his nights with his dad, brother Gordie and his sons watching the game. Kenny was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and wore his jersey so proudly and his favorite player being Wendell Clarke.

From dance competitions to the boy’s hockey games, Kenny never missed an activity his children participated in when going through Chemo and many treatments associated with his illness.

Kenny was a great friend; fantastic father and the absolute best son any parents could ask for. His modest personality and infectious smile filled any room Kenny entered. He loved his parents and reminded them often over the five years of his illness. He could have never been able to stay home until the end, if it had not been for the love of his parents and his brother Gordie; spending endless nights caring for him and Kenny was so grateful for those nightly Tim Hortons runs with his dad.

Along with his parents Wayne and Winnie, Kenny is survived by the mother of his children Nadara Billard and friend Kelly MacDonald; two sons: Jaden and Jake; a daughter Jailyn; two brothers: Gordie (Jen) and Tyler (Santana); as well as his fur buddy and pal Cash; and many extended family members.

Predeceased by maternal grandparents Jake and Mary (Dit) Saccary, Paternal grandparents Gordon and Claudine (Lovie) Boutilier, cousins Shaun Saccary and Francis Saccary (Best Friend) and Uncle Brian (Nickie) Boutilier.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 p.m., with Annie MacQueen presiding, all in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Cancer Centre.
