Eldridge "Eldie" Graham Obituary

Eldridge “Eldie” Graham, 92

Glace Bay, N.S.

It is with deep sorrow, that we, the family of Eldridge “Eldie” Graham, of Glace Bay, announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in Hospice Cape Breton (Membertou). Born in Dominion, N.S., he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (McLean) Graham.

Eldie worked in the coal mines for 33 years and developed long and lasting friendships. His many stories of life during those hard years will stay and be passed down by his children and grandchildren.

He asked very little in life; he loved and missed his beloved wife Cecelia, his two pets (Sparkle and Amber), and his precious Red Ford Ranger Truck. Eldie loved people and animals; deer would often stand next to him while he was sitting outside on his porch. Thanks to his good friends who visited him all the time at his home and took the time to stop and chat (Allison, Pius, Lynn B., Gord R., Dave L., and the Fahey family, as well as many others). God Bless You All!

Eldie loved to go fishing with his friend George and would often treat his neighbors to his catch.

Eldie is survived by his two daughters Angela Thompson, Glace Bay, and Joan (Kevin) Kieley, Gander, NL; three grandchildren David (Debbie) Kieley, Darren Kieley, both of Gander, NL, and James (Maria) Fraser, Victoria, BC; great-grandchildren Brandon Kieley, and Jeremy (Rebecca) Kieley, both of Gander, NL; as well as many nieces and nephews in Dominion.

Along side his parents, Eldie was predeceased in life by his loving wife Cecelia (MacNeil), whom he missed with all his heart, stepson David Thompson, brothers Neil, Lawrence, Walter, Dan (his favorite), Michael and William; sisters Katie, Mary (Girlie), Emaline, Pearl, and Mayme Stefura.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2 p.m., in Holy Cross Parish, Glace Bay, with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Cape Breton.
