Deborah “Debbie” McKenna, 67

It is with deep sorrow, that we the family of Deborah “Debbie” McKenna, of Glace Bay, announce her passing on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Mary (Walker) McKenna.

Debbie was once employed at McDonald’s Restaurant in Oshawa, ON, and Glace Bay. Debbie liked doing Embroidery and she loved to cook. Her pastime was watching Johnny Depp movies on T.V. and spending her time with her son John-Wayne.

Debbie is survived by her only child John-Wayne Deveau, Glace Bay; a sister Kim McKenna (Ron Brier), Toronto;Shannon McHugh; as well as several nieces and nephews, and extended family Caitlyn Garrison, Jennifer Garrison, Samantha Price, Gilbert and Charles Price, and little Deb.

Along with her parents, Debbie was predeceased by her husband Wayne Deveau, a sister Laura and brother Neil.

Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.
