Barbara Bernice Conron

Glace Bay / Sherbrooke


It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Conron on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the High Crest Nursing Home in Sherbrooke, NS.


Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Binder) Wilkinson.

Barbara was a very kind lady who loved stray cats that she fed on a regular basis. Mom enjoyed baking, cooking, skating and roller skating at Wheelies. She enjoyed travelling with her daughter near and far in her younger years.


Barbara is survived by her only daughter, Arlene Conron; brother, Raymond (Josephine) Wilkinson; niece, Gail Legnaro and her family as well as many other special nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernie Conron; sisters, Gloria Kelly and Eunice Young; brother, Jr. Wilkinson; Lulubelle, Riley and Muffin her four legged companions.

Cremation has taken place. As per Barbara’s wishes there will be no visitation or service.


Memorial donations can be made to your local animal shelter or Alzheimer’s Society.


A special thank you to the entire staff of the High Court Nursing Home, especially Heather for all their care and compassion given to my mom during her stay there. Thank you to Bill Burke for his service over the years.
