With deep love and quiet sorrow, we announce the passing of Leona Bernadette Sullivan-Oakley age 78 of Halifax, who left this world peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a simple, gentle woman whose life was marked by humility, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Leona lived with a frugality that spoke not of limitation, but of gratitude. She found beauty in the small things—homemade meals, shared conversations, and the comfort of home. Her life was a reminder that joy does not come from abundance, but from appreciating what you have and loving those around you deeply.

In recent years, she faced her illness with extraordinary grace. She never complained, never burdened others, and carried her challenges with a quiet courage that inspired those who loved her. Even on the hardest days, she continued to show kindness, patience, and a soft smile that reassured others everything would be alright.

Above all, family was the center of her world. She loved fiercely and simply, offering steady support, warm guidance, and a presence that made those around her feel cared for and understood. Her absence will be deeply felt, yet her love remains with us—steady, gentle, and everlasting.

She was predeceased by her parents, Claude & Leona Kelly; her first husband, Edward Sullivan; son, Edward Sullivan; second, Husband, James Oakley; brother, Claude Kelly.
