Donald Joseph Webb Obituary

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Donald Joseph Webb, age 70 at home in Dartmouth, NS on November 10, 2025. Donnie was such a kind soul that loved to make people laugh, loved to be the “Life of the Party” and always saw the good in every situation. Donnie fought the bravest and longest fight over the last three years.

Born in Halifax, NS on July 30, 1955 Donnie was a man of many trades and talents. From his early years of auto body work and rigging to his life-long carpentry career, Donnie also touched everyone he met with his love of music. Being the oldest of 10 siblings, all of whom followed his love of music by singing and playing instruments.

Donnie’s passion was playing music. He had many bands over the years from his first “Abby Wine” of course named after his favorite band ever April Wine, to “The Webb’s” and his current band “Touch of Grey”. Donnie would play for anyone that would listen. I sure hope that Dad & Myles Goodwyn are in Heaven playing Roller and having a drink. I bet Heaven got a little louder.

Donnie is survived by his partner & fun-loving caregiver, Cindy (King); daughter, Shelley (Glen) MacRae of Rockdale, NS; son, Derek (Jennifer) Webb of Lower L’Ardoise; granddaughter, Morgan Webb of Lower L’Ardoise; and great granddaughter, Aspyn Martell whom he adored, also of Lower L’Ardoise. Donnie is also survived by his stepsons, Nathan (Kimberly) King of Courtney, BC and Mitchell (Erica) King of Dartmouth, NS; and their children, Benjamin, Brooklyn, Carter, Isabel, Aleah, Charley and Zachery who brightened his days with visits. Donnie is survived by brothers, Russell (Elaine), Paul (Anita), James (Caroline), Wayne (Anita), Danny (Kim); and sisters, Sheila (Hilary), Sandra (Kenny), and Janet (Lawrence). Donnie is also survived by many Aunt and Uncles, lots of special nieces and nephews and lots of extended family.

Donnie was predeceased by his first love, Sharon (Mombourquette); parents, Russell and Theresa (Pottie) Webb; sister, Linda (MacDonald); sibling in infancy; mother and father-in-law, John Mark and Jean Mombourquette; and brother-in-law, Mark Mombourquette.

Special Thanks to Dr. Ravi, Dr. Livingstone, Dr. Ellsmere, the nurses and staff at the VG chemo clinic, many EMT’s and blood collection that had the joy of meeting Donnie over his three years of illness, many family and friends that were always there to lend a hand or some medical advice and Donnie’s special cousin Tom (you know why he loved you). Donnie left an impact on everyone he met, making best friends at his last job at DND (thanks for visiting Donnie to brighten his day) and some local pubs like Dave Doolittles, Colleen’s and The Hub.

Donnie had a huge place in his heart for dogs, especially his last buddy Sam and would spoil any dog that was in his sight so we request that you please consider a donation to the SPCA or any other dog rescue in Donnie’s memory in lieu of flowers.

Two celebrations of life have been planned …one on November 22, 2025 at 5pm at the L’Ardoise Legion, Lower L’Ardoise and one on November 29, 2025 at 2pm at Dave Doolittles in Dartmouth. Please bring an instrument and come tell some Donnie stories.
