Sylvia Ewing Bell, age 90, of Halifax passed away Sunday November 9th 2025 at the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of Stanley and Ada Pearce.
Sylvia married her husband, Martin in 1957 and then they emigrated to Canada in 1975. She spent 50 happy years here with her family. In 1997, she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a Bible teacher and preacher up until her death. She treasured the Bible's hope of a future resurrection back to an earthly paradise. (Revelation 21: 4).
She is survived by her son, Martin; 2 daughters, Susan and Arlene; 5 grandchildren, Mark, Ross, Marissa, Ashlyn and Kaitlyn; 8 great-grandchildren, Amy, Roan, Everett, Jaylon, Kash, Blakeley, Reid and Jocelyn.
Predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Ada; brothers, Harry, Stan, John, and Eddie; and her beloved husband of 60 years, Martin.
A memorial service for Sylvia will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:30 pm in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 210 Parkland Drive, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada.
Sylvia's family would like to thank all of Mom's friends in the local congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses for their loving support during this time. They would also like to thank the incredible nursing staff in the palliative care unit at the Victoria General Hospital
