Colleen Theresa Hall (Blackburn) age 79 of Halifax, N.S passed away suddenly at home on November 4, 2025. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late, Kenneth and Margaret (Brackett) Blackburn.
She is survived by her two sons, Glen (Donna) of Riverview, NB and Michael (Melanie) of Calgary, AB, brothers, Michael, Patrick and Joseph(Charlene); brother-in-law Doug; sisters, Joan(Cyril), Peggy(Bob); sisters-in-law, Shirley and Joy; and chosen sister, Kathy(George); grandchildren, Jarrett(Ashley), Jannell, and Jillian; step-grandchildren, Imagin and Emilie; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Taylor; fur grandbabies, Daisy, Charlie and Sully, and Many Nieces and Nephews.
Besides her parents, Colleen is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Donald (Ducky); brothers, David and Tommy; sister Holly; and sisters-in-Law, Betty and Mary.
In her early years Colleen worked at National Foods Fish Plant and Woolco up until the birth of her children when she became a stay-at-home mom. Colleen gave up countless hours to her children making sure that they got to all of their sporting events and any other extra circular activities they signed up for all while making sure that she didn’t miss a Saturday night card game with “the sisters”. After her children were grown she returned to the workforce with the Canadian Diabetes Association and Shannex Parkstone. She also spent countless hours volunteering her time on the ball field as she was an Executive Member of Halifax West Minor Baseball for 20 plus years. She also was a Booster Club member of various AHL Hockey Teams selling 50/50 tickets. She also enjoyed traveling to both Alberta and New Brunswick so see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. She was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan she rarely missed “coaching” a game from the couch. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy Peregrine Branch where loved to attend weekly Bingo with family and friends where she will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held in TJ Tracey’s Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Beechville, NS, B3S 1C4 on Friday November 14, 2025, from 1pm-3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Colleen may be made to Souls Harbor Mission.
