We are saddened to announce the passing of Janet Nancy Farrell on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Janet passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Frances (Nordine) Farrell.

Janet loved her family with a fierce and unwavering devotion. Before she got ill, she volunteered for the RCMP. She never missed an opportunity to watch Matthew play hockey. She enjoyed going on road trips to Ingonish with her girls. She loved spending time with all of her friends, especially her best friend, Martha.

Janet is survived by her son, Matthew (Joanne) Campbell; brother, Patrick (Paula) Farrell; sister, Sue Anne Farrell; grandchildren, Tara and Rory; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joyce Farrell.

A special thank you to the staff at the CBRH. We know she had several favourites, you know who you are.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. A private family service will take place at a later date.
