It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Danny Wilson, a cherished member of the Resi-Care (C.B.) Association family, who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 74.

Danny made his home with Resi-Care for over three decades, moving to 70 George Street in 1994, where he spent the past 31 years surrounded by staff and housemates who became his true family.

Since his arrival, Danny was a proud participant at the Horizon Achievement Centre, where he attended daily and took great joy in his routines, friendships, and the sense of community it offered.

A loyal hockey fan, Danny held season tickets for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and rarely missed a game. His excitement for the team and the camaraderie of those nights at Centre 200 were some of his happiest moments. Danny also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially his Tim Hortons coffee and a donut, which were part of his much-loved routine.

He shared a particularly special friendship with Chris Dunsworth, one of the residents from the adjoining apartment. The two were inseparable during their many hockey outings and Tim Hortons walks. In later years, when Danny was no longer able to make the trips himself, Chris made sure his friend never went without his favorite coffee, a gesture that meant the world to Danny and to those who knew them both.

Danny will be deeply missed by his many friends and staff within the Resi-Care community, as well as by his housemates at 70 George Street, Katie, Maggie, Tracy, Norma, Ruth, Allen and Kevin plus apartment residents, Chris, Willie and Christopher who shared in his laughter, daily routines, and companionship for so many years.

His warmth, humor, and gentle spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Danny’s Resi-Care family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, and his memory will continue to live on in the stories, smiles, and friendships he leaves behind.

Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Dr., Sydney, N.S. (902)539-7175.Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 1-2 p.m., and a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m., with Rev. Sheldon Chant presiding. Interment to be held at a later date.
