We are saddened to announce the passing of Elizabeth Hippolyte at her home in Albert Bridge, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Born in Karlsbad, Czech Republic, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Hans and Gretl Hellus.
Elizabeth worked at K-Brand Hat Factory in Mount Forest for 20 years. She enjoyed travelling and visited the Caribbean several times. She loved going to the drag races and watching NASCAR on Sundays.
She is survived by her daughter, Monica (Dave) Pyke; sister, Hannelore (Gunther) Schmidt; grandchildren, Aaron (Vera) McLean, Kelly Pyke, Krystal (Matthew) Martell; and great-grandchildren, Sheridan, Brayden McLean, Brianna, Caitlyn and Jamielynn Martell.
Besides her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Fred Imholze; daughter, Karen; and brothers, Hans and Horst Hellus.
Thank you to Cape Breton Homemakers, VON, and the Palliative Care team, for the incredible care they gave to Mom.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. There will be no service, as per Elizabeth’s wishes.
