Kevin William Currie
December 11th, 1985 - October 18th, 2025
It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Kevin William Currie on October 18th, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable stories. Known for his endless rambling and ability to talk the leg off anyone he met, he never cared what others thought– he was unapologetically himself and that is what made him so loved. He was always up for a dare and never one to shy away from a good time, he brought energy and humor wherever he went.
In his younger years, you could often find him playing road hockey with his friends until the streetlights came on. A true Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan at heart. Kevin knew from an early age the importance of working to earn a dollar. As a boy he would often shovel driveways and mow yards before transitioning as an adult into carpentry, roofing, call centers as well as long hours working at Kal Bay fisheries.
Above all, he adored “his girls” Emily and Lilia, who were the absolute light of his life. He was endlessly proud of them and made sure everyone knew it. Though he faced his own struggles, he never lost the kindness at his core or the warmth in his heart. Funny, wild, and full of spirit, he was an all-around good guy who will be missed more than words can say.
Left to mourn his passing are the loves of his life, his beloved daughters, Emily and Lilia Currie. He will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Lorraine Currie and Kevin Ingraham, and his cherished siblings: Michael, Shealynn (Mark), Kara (Wally), Florence (Eric), and Marcella.
Also mourning his passing are his dear nephews: Bryson, Conner, Nicholas, Michael, Brady, Austin, Brandon, William, great nephew Cameron; and nieces: Sierra, Keyonna—who held a special place in his heart—Gabby, and Jazzy.
His loyal fur baby, Max, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Also mourning Kevin’s loss is the mother of his children, Ashley Ongo.
Kevin was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Bernie Currie; grandmother, Catherine McNeil; step grandfather, Jim McNeil; and paternal grandparents, Florence and Toby Ingraham; as well as his uncles, Roddie Currie, Ronnie McNeil, Jake Ingraham, and Sonny Ingraham.
In honouring Kevin's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 12-2 p.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the First Responders for their extended efforts on October 18th. We are profoundly thankful for the care, urgency and compassion shown by the paramedics, firefighters, and emergency personnel.
“Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved ones gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is a memory, they will live on in the heart.”
