Michael John Nash Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Michael Nash, announce his passing at home on October 18, 2025.

Michael was the son of the late Peter and Agnes Nash, Westmount.

He grew up in Westmount where he loved visiting and chatting with neighbours and friends. Michael brought smiles and joy to everyone and provided a helping hand where and when it was needed. This brought him joy. In his younger years, Michael enjoyed going to Iona visiting with family in Barra Glen or St. Columba.

Michael is survived by sisters, Patricia (Michael) MacNeil, Debbie (Anthony) MacKinnon, Linda Nash; and his brother, Gerard, with whom he shared an immeasurable bond – a bond like no other, an incredibly deep and strong connection, an unwavering devotion. He is also survived by nephews Steven MacNeil and Christopher MacKinnon and by many cherished cousins.

Mike will be forever in our hearts.

Michael is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Agnes Nash; sister, Mary Margaret MacNeil; brother-in-law, Joe MacNeil; aunts, Sr. Agnes Nash CND, Margaret Nash, Ann Anderson; and uncles, Dan Nash, John R. Nash, Martin Anderson and John Anderson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 10 am-11 am at TJ Tracey Funeral Home, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, followed by a service at 11 am in the chapel, Fr. Bill Burke officiating, with a reception afterward. For those unable to attend, livestreaming will be available and can be viewed by visiting the T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you do a good deed for someone in memory of Mike.

A special thank you to the doctors, staff, and clinical team of 3A at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and also Dr. Oja at the Cape Breton Cancer Center
