It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Wayne Barkhouse, age 77 on the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cheticamp, he was the son of the late George and Marie (Aucoin) Barkhouse.

He was a member of the Canadian Militia, the Bras D’Or Yacht Club, and Lions' Club in Baddeck. He volunteered as a firefighter and cub leader. Wayne enjoyed fishing with his kids, wife and especially his grandson. He enjoyed travelling and driving all over the Maritimes, exploring all of the back roads. Scott) Stuart; grandson, Ethan Stuart; sisters, Almina Gouthro and Elaine McDonald; brother, Fred (Helen MacKinnon) Barkhouse; as well as several nieces and nephews.
