Mary “Pauline” MacNeil, 86

We the family of Mary “Pauline” MacNeil, announce her passing on Monday, October 6, 2025, in the Seaview Manor, Glace Bay. Born in Glace Bay, Pauline was the daughter of the late James and Caroline MacNeil.

Before retirement, Pauline was employed as an operator with MT&T in the Service and Repair Department. Paulines was an avid skater in her younger years, and very much enjoyed it. She was a very talented lady, and loved to knit and sew, she would often make her own clothes which were admired by many; she also loved music and was one of the vocalists with a band called the Shenanigans. Pauline was a, active member of St. Joseph’s Parish and held a seat on the parish council.

Pauline is survived by three brothers: Elmer (Florence) MacNeil, Glace Bay, Raymond (Brenda) MacNeil, Reserve Mines, and John “Butch” (Marilyn) MacNeil, Sydney Rd. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Paula MacNeil and Frances MacNeil, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Along with her parents Pauline was predeceased by sister Joan and brothers Sheldon and Wilfred MacNeil, as well as two siblings in infancy.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be a graveside service in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Dan Boudreau presiding.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt thank you to Dr. Lee, and the staff of the Seaview Manor, your compassion and kindness to Pauline and our family will be forever remembered.
