It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jonathan Peter Rudolf, who was born on July 11, 1970 in Fredericton NB. Jonathan passed away suddenly at his home in Brookside NS on September 21, 2025.

Jonathan will be forever loved and dearly missed by his wife Tracy Rudolf (nee) Maughan; his daughter, Chantal Nauss; and stepdaughter, Brittany Wright. Jonathan was affectionately known as “Popper” by his cherished step-grandson, Xavier Rayner.

He is survived by his mother, Sheila Morris (nee Rudolf); Stepfather, Jim Morris; sister, Andrea (Trevor) Naas; brother, Dan (Suzanne) Rudolf; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Peter John Rudolf.

Jonathan was a kind and gentle soul with a deep appreciation for nature and poetry. He found peace in hiking, exploring nature and sharing countless adventures with his “best friend” Xavier and his beloved dog Olive. His love and respect for all animals was evident. Most recently he found joy with his newly adopted puppy, Wellington. Jonathan was a gifted gardener; you could always find him planting something new to feed the many birds and bees in his yard.

Over the years, Jonathan enjoyed a career in the Transport and Logistics Industry. His early years spent in Toronto only to find his path back home to his family in Nova Scotia when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Bravely he fought to overcome his illness, and he will always be remembered for his courage and determination. Though he fought like a warrior to defeat cancer, sadly his life was cut short with an undiagnosed heart condition.

Jonathan never met a stranger; his smile, sense of humour and kind heart naturally attracted people and he will be greatly missed by everyone that had the honor of crossing his path.

A private celebration of Jonathan’s life will be held at a later date with family and friends.
