Alexei Mansel Turner Obituary

Alexei Mansel Turner, aged 60, of Sambro/Halifax, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he was the beloved son of Tony Mansel Turner and Natasha Rose Turner.

Alexei was a proud and dedicated member of the International Longshoremen’s Association Local 269. He held deep affection for his colleagues, whom he considered an extension of his family. He especially cherished the quiet beauty of early mornings at the dockyard, watching the sun rise over the water, a daily moment of peace in a life well-lived.

A devoted father, Alexei found his greatest joy in camping adventures with his children. He was a true outdoorsman, with a deep love for hiking the rugged trails of Cape Breton Island. His passion for motorcycles and vintage cars was matched only by his adventurous spirit. In his younger years, Alexei was a talented athlete, playing hockey and lacrosse before pursuing motocross and cross-country racing.

He is survived by his cherished children, Isabelle Turner (17) and Willem Turner (15); his devoted mother, Natasha Turner; and his brother, Tristan Turner.

Alexei was cremated, and his final resting place will be at St. James Cemetery in Sambro.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Alexei’s colleagues and friends at the ILA for their generous donations and unwavering support.
