Glenn Gordon Cole Obituary

Glenn Gordon Cole, age 75, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025 at The Mira, Truro, NS. Born in Halifax on September 25, 1950, he was the youngest of three children of the late Gordon George Cole and the late Mildred Elizabeth (Martell) Cole.

He is survived by his sons Geoffrey Glenn Cole (Shelley), Cooks Brook, NS and Gregory Gordon Cole (Marnie), Winnipeg, MB, grandchildren Griffen Cole, Belnan and Hannah Cole, Cooks Brook, sister Carolyn Clarke, Lower Sackville, many nieces, nephews, cousins and Susan Cole.

He was also predeceased by his sister Linda Ventrcek and brother-in-law Allen Ventrcek.

Glenn worked for the Canadian Coast Guard until his retirement in 2005, as a Project Manager for Aids and Waterways where he oversaw projects including lighthouses, fuel systems, and maintenance. It was a job that had him travelling all across the Maritimes.

Glenn enjoyed everything about the great outdoors - hiking the backwoods of Keji, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at the cabin. He spent many years as a Cub Leader and a Venturer Advisor where he enjoyed teaching them about survival in the woods. During his time in scouting, he had the pleasure of doing two trips to the Canadian Jamboree in PEI and Kananaskis, AB. He also had a love for carpentry and wood carving. He spent many hours whittling away on his own as well as with his carving friends in Morningside RV Estates, Dade City, FL, where he wintered for several years.
