Nina Tucker, 69, of Whites Lake, passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2025. Born in Halifax to Arthur "Artie" and Sandra Tucker, Nina was known for her generous spirit and the joy she found in doing for others.
She was the heart of many gatherings, always bringing people together with her warm hospitality.
Nina loved cooking for her family and friends, hosting countless birthday celebrations and holiday dinners. Christmas was her favorite time of year—a season that truly reflected her love for making those around her feel special. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel the magic of the holidays.
Nina also cherished her time at the family camp, where she enjoyed playing cards—especially a lively game of "Bertha"—and savoring the occasional margarita. Rarely home for long, Nina embraced life to the fullest. She loved playing darts and bingo with the ladies at the local legion, entering washer toss tournaments, and taking shopping and casino trips with her closest friends. Her warmth, laughter, and love of life left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Nina is survived by her mother, Sandra; her children, Leigh (Jasmine) and Jenna; her siblings, Clifford (Sherry), Darrell (Cherryl), Greg (Terri), Heather (Shawn) and sister in law Donna (Barry); as well as her extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Arthur, and her brother, Barry.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Surujballi and Dr. Othman at the QEII Cancer Centre, the VON, the Palliative Care team, and the many nurses who supported Nina with compassion and kindness throughout her journey. Your care meant so much.
A celebration of life will be held on October 8th from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Whites Lake Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VON.
May we honor Nina’s memory by gathering often, laughing loudly, and loving deeply—just as she did.
