Cindy Lou Craig Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom/ wife Cindy Craig on September 30th, 2025, at the age of 63 surrounded by her loving family. Cindy was born in Whites Lake, Nova Scotia to parents William (Junior), and Elizabeth (Betty) MacDonald. Cindy was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and selflessness.

Cindy was a devoted wife to her husband Jim, a dedicated mother to Chad (Kaitlyn), Daughter Holly (John), loving sister to Jo-Anne (Bernard), Julie (Travis), and a treasured grandmother to Connor, Liam, Senna, and a little one on the way that she was so excited to meet.

Throughout her life, Cindy touched all the lives of all who knew her. She poured her love into baking, spending hours in the kitchen so she could share her creations with those dearests to her. Cindy retired from the NSLC Corporate Office with 30+ years of service to care for her grandchildren. Family was the heart of her happiness and her selflessness shone through in every moment she shared with them. Her husband, Jim, was her rock, and together they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. Some of their favorite pastimes were simple joys shared together, like going to Freddy’s Fish and Chips, bringing their own plates and cutlery, and sitting in the car to savor their meal while enjoying each other’s company. They never missed a Blue Jays game on TV, always cheering for her favorite player, Springer. She was the team’s biggest fan, and in her final moments, she was able to listen to the Jays win the AL East Division Game, celebrating their victory one last time.

In Cindy’s words, her children were her world. She devoted countless hours to supporting them, whether it was bundled up at the hockey rink cheering on her son Chad or proudly attending cheer competitions and riding lessons with her daughter Holly. Being present for their passions brought her immense joy, and she never missed a chance to show them she was their biggest fan. She and Chad shared a special bond, often reminiscing about cherished memories and connecting over their love of sports. With her daughter Holly, she treasured every moment together—whether on shopping outings, watching romance movies at the theater, or simply enjoying the joy of each other’s company. These moments of togetherness were some of the happiest of her life.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished every moment with them, attending every hockey game, soccer game, skating lessons, tennis lessons, ballet classes, and swimming lessons, always cheering them on with joy. Each visit she had with them; she always made it sweeter by bringing along their favorite treat. Her love for them was boundless, unwavering, and filled with a warmth and tenderness that they always felt.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Palliative Care Team on 7A at the Victoria General for the exceptional care and compassion you showed our mom and wife during her time with you.

As per Cindy’s wishes, a family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Red Cross.

Cindy/ Mom, our love for you is beyond words. You are our world, and the legacy of your boundless love, kindness, and selflessness will live on in the three of us.

Love Jim, Chad, and Holly
