William “Bill” Angus Smith, 81, of Halifax passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial Building. Born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island he was the son of Raymond Stanfield Smith and Effie Margaret (MacLean) Smith.
Bill was raised in Orwell Cove PEI. He had many fond memories of growing up on the Island surrounded by family, friends and the sense of community. He was a graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax where he studied Computer Science. Bill worked as a systems analyst and was employed with various companies in the Maritimes, Ontario and several US States. Bill was a lover of knowledge and learning. He was an avid reader and enjoyed travel.
Survived by his nephew, Raymond Lenaghan; his niece, Alayne (Glenn) MacInnis; grandnephew, Blair MacInnis and grandniece, Alexis MacInnis. Also survived by his former wife, Bonnie Davidson and her children Janice and Campbell.
Predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Effie as well as his brother, George and sister, Raymona.
Interment at a later date in St. John’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Belfast, PEI.
