Margaret ‘Arlene’ (Krewenki) Morgan, 73

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Arlene (Krewenki) Morgan, age 73, of Glace Bay, on July 23, 2025.

In her younger years, Arlene worked for General Instruments and Rosenblum's in Glace Bay, before later working as an office administrator for her husband Murdock's hardware store, M&H Hardware.

Arlene was an avid reader and passed along her love of reading and learning to her son and grandchildren. She also loved to shop and particularly enjoyed her visits to Pennington’s in Sydney. She also enjoyed pop music, especially the music of Phil Collins and Genesis. More than anything else, Arlene loved her family, and nothing made her happier than spending time with them and taking care of them.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 52 years, Murdock Morgan of Glace Bay; her son Darren (Sherry) Morgan of Sydney; her grandchildren Tony Morgan and Des Morgan; her sister Paula McNeil of Glace Bay; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (Currie) Krewenki and John Krewenki; her sister Jo-Anne Acker; and her brother Johnny Krewenki.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Gordon Spencer and Jeannie Phillips for their wonderful care for Arlene for so many years; to the nurses and staff of New Waterford Home Care and the Victorian Order of Nurses for taking care of Arlene in her home; to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for providing her with comfort in her final days; and to her niece Kelly McNeil for all that she did for Arlene.

In accordance with Arlene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at T.J. Tracey’s Cremation and Burial Specialists at 370 Reserve Street in Glace Bay (902-849-4199), to be followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm, and interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Glace Bay.
