Duncan Garfield "Gary" Osborne Obituary
Duncan Garfield (Gary) Osborne, 68
Reserve Mines, N.S.
It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Gary (Ozzy) Osborne announce he passed peacefully at home on Saturday, June 21, 2005. Born in Glace Bay on Feb 8, 1957, he was the son of the late Duncan Nicholson Osborne (Bunny) and Dorthy Osborne (Brooks).
At an early age, Gary was into competitive sports, especially hockey. He played for Morrison High and then Juvenile for the Glace Bay Kinsmen. After he graduated, he began painting with his father’s company Ideal Painting and Contracting. In 1982, he suffered a life altering accident which left him paraplegic. Gary was as active as he could be considering his condition but as years passed and the pain increased, he eventually required 24-hour care which was provided by his loving wife Shirley.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Fraser), son Joshua, Alberta, daughter Christy (Mark), St. John New Brunswick, two brothers Billy (Jeanette) and Calvin (Kim), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the direction of TJ Tracey’s Cremation and Burial Specialists, Glace Bay, N.S.
You will be missed forever, Love Always Shirley
When someone you love becomes a memory,
the memory becomes a treasure.
