Frances Lillian LeFort

Glace Bay, N.S.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances LeFort on Monday, July 14, 2025, in the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Minnie (Filalek) Politte.

Frances enjoyed crocheting, knitting, skating and fishing. She loved a good game of cards and darts. She enjoyed a trip to Dooleys with her sister Beatrice and each time Paula would come for a visit she would request a French Vanilla from Tim’s. Frances also appreciated listening to Elvis Presley.

Frances is survived by her loving children, Georgia (Danny) Foote, Timmy (Tracie) LeFort, and Paula LeFort; grandchildren, Andrew, Braydon, Dominic, Corinna, Emilie, John, Eric; two precious great grandchildren, Mason and Jaxon. She is also survived by her brother Andrew ‘Blackie’ and her sister Beatrice as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Billy, and Peter, sisters, Pauline and Helen.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with Fr. MacLeen officiating at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. (902-849-4199). A reception to follow at 46 Sterling Road, Glace Bay.

A special thank you to Audrey for all her support during these trying times. To the nursing staff, 3rd floor in Glace Bay Hospital for your care and compassion given to our mom and family.
