Shirley (White) Bennett

Glace Bay

It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of Shirley E. Bennett. Born in Glace Bay, to the late Abraham and Jessie (Curtis) White.

Shirley worked in Toronto for several years before retiring home, she volunteered at Victoria Nursing Home for 20 years.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased husband, Pat Bennett; brothers, George Sr., Aubrey; sisters, Elsie, Mae, Jean, Jessie and Lavinia.

Shirley is survived by brothers, Gordon (Flo), Abe (Grace), Allister (Carol), Lew (Marilyn); friend Jackie; neighbors, Kirk (Linda), Cheryl (Bob), Rose (Lloyd), Alex (Michelle) and Nancy (Bernie) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses on 3rd Floor East and West at the Glace Bay Hospital and the staff at the Cancer Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. As Shirley’s request there will be no visitation or service.
