We are saddened to announce the death of Andrew Reid on July 10, 2025. Andy was born in Moncton New Brunswick, moved to Dartmouth for high school, and then back to UNB to complete his BSc in electrical engineering. He made lifelong friends in both provinces. He returned to Halifax, marrying Beth, his beloved wife of 51 years. He had a prolific career of solving electrical and computer engineering problems. He loved being Santa Claus for his co-workers’ kids, and loved mentoring their parents. He retired early to pursue his lifelong passion of learning about any subject that took his fancy. He spent many summers relaxing at Caissie Cape, surrounded by his family and (later in life) a small selection of his favourite computers. He had a lifelong love of music. He had a very positive attitude and a smile for everyone.

Andy is survived by his wife, Beth, children Jamie (Pamela), Carole, cherished grand child Natasha, and his sisters and their families in New Brunswick.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 2:00pm in All Saints Cathedral, 1330 Cathedral Ln, Halifax, NS B3H 2Z1, with a reception to follow.
