Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Marie McNeil

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty McNeil, age 70 on July 8, 2025 at the Glace Bay Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Peter Hector McNeil and Hilda Pearl (Campbell) McNeil. Betty enjoyed playing Bingo and games on her tablet, while watching game shows and Court shows. She loved cats, especially her Fur baby Toby. Betty is survived by her sisters, Rita Diane Reynolds, Ontario and Hilda McNeil, goddaughters Rita Young and Abigail Gilliam along with many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Peter McNeil, David McNeil and Jimmy McNeil; sisters, Mary Mahe, Jeanette Timmons and Ruth McNeil in infancy,

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, with Fr. Norman MacPhee.
