It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Elizabeth MacLeod (Nemeth), 67, of Sydney, on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Sydney, Margaret was the daughter of the late Viola (McCarron) and Frank Nemeth.

Margaret worked for over 37 years at CBU. She and Donnie loved to spend time with her many family and friends. Most of all she loved to visit with her son and grandchildren, both at home and at their home in PEI.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Donnie, of 39 years; her son, Ryan (Stephanie (Sobey)) MacLeod; grandchildren, James and Isaac; brothers, Francis (Marie), James (Jocelyn), and Joseph (Willena); sisters, Susan Dixon (Gaye), and Jane Lunn (Carlton).

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. A Celebration of Life will take place at the funeral home on Friday, June 27, from 2-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CBRH Palliative Care.
