Clyde Wayne Spencer Obituary
Clyde Wayne Spencer, 78
1946 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clyde Wayne Spencer, age 78, who passed away peacefully in the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Born in Donkin, Clyde was the youngest son of the late Earl and Laura (Parsons) Spencer.
A certified welder by trade, he spent over 30 years in the profession, earning a reputation for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. Outside of work, Clyde found great joy in the outdoors—he was an avid hunter and fisherman who cherished the peace and solitude of nature.
Clyde is survived by his daughters, Laurel (Hantsport, NS) and Haylee (Port au Port, NL); sons, Shane and Mitchell (Janice), all of Newfoundland; and his cherished great-grandson, Hunter. He is also survived by his brother Walter, sister-in-law Gladys, special niece Shelley Littlier, and special cousin Lillian Lyons.
He was predeceased by his eldest brother, Albert, in 1971.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at 1:00-2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 24, in Tracey's Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. Interment will follow at the Spencer Family Cemetery in Horne’s Road, Mira.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia in Clyde’s memory.
