We are saddened to announce the passing of Joseph Anthony “Tony” Decoste, 84, who passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Tony was the son of the late John and Anne Decoste. A long-time resident of Glace Bay, Tony worked at Devco Security for many years. He was a skilled craftsman, who enjoyed many hobbies, such as woodworking, gardening, cooking, playing pool, and watching hockey. Known for an excellent and intelligent sense of humor, Tony was a kind and generous person, especially proud of his family and always helpful towards others.

He is survived by his son; Joseph (Genia); grandson, Daniel; and brother, Donald.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Gloria; and brother, John Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. June 7,2025 at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199)
