It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvonne Deane, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, a devoted wife, cherished sister, and dear friend to many. Yvonne leaves behind a legacy of love and deep connections that will be remembered forever.

Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Kenneth Jewells, and the late Darlene and Henry Trapp. She was the loving wife of John Deane; sister of Sandy Peach and Anne Marie Reid, who will all miss her very much. Yvonne will be also missed by her niece, Molly; nephews, Stephen, Mark and Bradley, especially her nephew Derrick and special great-nephew Even. She is also survived by and will be dearly missed by her father-and mother-in-law, John and Margaret Deane; sister-in-law, Darlene (Bradley) Andrews; brother-in-law, Mark (Amy) Deane. Her friends in Glace Bay and at the Carnival will also feel the absence of her friendship.

Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her friends and family wherever she was. She loved her Tim Hortons, knitting and listening to music.

Yvonne’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all of their care and compassion given to Yvonne, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your compassion did not go unnoticed.

And to everyone she loved, and who loved her in return—if we’ve forgotten any names, please know it is not for lack of love or gratitude. She touched so many lives, and she will live on in all our hearts.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
