With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Winnifred Gavin on May 10, 2025, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and the twinkle in her blue eyes that lit up every room she entered.

Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Barbara dedicated 30 years to the federal government, working at the research station in Kentville before retiring early in 2007. Her commitment and work ethic were matched only by her grace and resilience. Later in life, she moved to Bedford to be closer to her family — a decision that brought her great joy and comfort.

Barbara was predeceased by her Father & Mother, John & Winnifred Cluett; former husband, Gordon Gavin; brother-in-law, Kenneth.

She leaves behind her beloved, son Mark (Shannon); her loving sister, Geraldine Connors; her brother, David (Sheila) Cluett; nieces & nephews; and her two treasured grandsons, Jack, and Blake, who were the light of her life.

Barbara had a gentle soul and a generous heart. She found joy in life's simple pleasures — collecting figurines and sun catchers, decorating her home with festive cheer during Christmas and Easter, and most of all, cherishing time with her loved ones. Her home was a reflection of her spirit: warm, joyful, and filled with love.

Throughout her life, and especially in the face of health challenges, Barbara showed unwavering

resilience and grace. Her courage, gratitude, and sweet nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Barbara will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered — not only for the love she gave so freely, but for the beautiful legacy of kindness and strength she leaves behind.
