Christopher Shannon Currie Obituary

Christopher Shannon Currie

Christopher Shannon Currie went on from this life March 25,2025. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia April 18,1963 he would have been really pissed he died just shy of his 62nd birthday celebration as he loved a great party!

He was the beloved son of the late Gordon George Currie (Reserve Mines) and the late Donna (Francis Steele) Currie (Glace Bay). Also predeceased before Chris was his only bro Shane and sister Denise.

Left to mourn his passing are his sisters Sheila Currie Spencer (Danny Spencer), Sister Mary Darlene Currie; Niece Fondah (Greg Parsons) and nephew Briar Spencer (Victoria) and several grand nieces and nephews and many friends. Also, Christ leaves behind Colleen who was his sweet girlfriend for 20 years, and the one he let slip away.

Chris joined the cadets at age 12 and was hooked with the lifestyle! He went on to the Reserve Force while still in high school and the Regular force right after he graduated from St. Michaels Senior High in 1981. He was deployed to Lahr Germany tank division for 5 years where he decided he had enough and went civilian. From there Chris was a ‘roofer’ for over 20 years in Calgary Alta. When he got tired of that he went on to be a ‘mover’ with a with a company in Calgary where he worked for many years. People loved his personality and his work ethic.

He was a lively character with never a frown, joking and laughing was his way of life, the guy who would give the shirt off his back and was grateful for everything in life.

Besides being heartbroken over his death we miss his laughter, his ‘special’ rendition of I Walk the Line by Johnny Cash and the rest of his antics that would give good belly laughs. He was a rascal and had an abundance of wit and charm. He memorized the dictionary when he was 11 years old just to be smarter than everyone else, lol, that was good till he tried that crap with our Ma! We miss the good ole days and his C.I.A (Currie Intelligence Agency) report of his Boston Bruins updates, he was their biggest fan!

Rest easy bro we miss you terribly xoxo
