April 14, 1948 – April 28, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Josephine P. Wilson (Pye) at the age of 77 on April 28, 2025 at QEII, Halifax. At the time of her passing she was surrounded in a room of love by her immediate family.

Josey carried many working titles over her years from taxi driving to healthcare, but the titles she held dearest were wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent decades caring for those closest to her, creating long-lasting memories. To know Josey was to love her, she was a warm light to everyone who entered her presence. Whether you were family or meeting her the first time, she always greeted you with a big hug and a kind smile. Josey was truly the beating heart of our family, she gathered all together for every occasion and was known for her hearty cooking. If you walked into her home, you would be sure to leave with a full belly and a bag of goodies to go.

Josey was happiest being surrounded by those she loved while playing guitars and singing along, we will always remember her singing voice and her contagious laughter. Of course, when speaking about things she loved we can’t forget to mention her dog, Rusty, who she adored.

Josey is survived by her lifelong love Kenneth Wilson; her children, Laura (Mike), Kenny (Karen), and Donna (Ed); her grandchildren, Alicia (Vince), Jeffery (Carolyn), Kirkland, and Jacob; her Great grandchildren, Dax and Beau; sisters, Rose Marie (Bert), Gwendolyn (late Dave Rogers); brothers, Leo (Mary) and Earl (Rhoda); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Edna (Kenefick) Pye; sisters, Jean Guptell, Madeline Bamburry, Bernice Julian, Deborah (late Ned) Whiley; brothers, Joseph, Kenneth, Ronald, Gerald, Cecil, Donald, and Frederick.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service or reception held, as per Josey’s wishes. We will forever carry her memory in our hearts.
