Kathleen Gladys Pottie Obituary

88, of Indian Harbour

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother Kathleen Gladys Pottie on April 26, 2025. She lived her whole life in Indian Harbour and raised a family of 6 children. For many years, she worked in Peggy's Cove at the Sou'Wester and became a very good friend to the late Jack Campbell.

Her passion for many years had been designing and hooking rugs. She crocheted, knit, painted and could do any craft she put her hands to. She made jams and jellies using fruits and berries from her own garden. Favourite things to do included solving the New York Times crossword puzzle and playing scrabble with her sister Florena. She and Freddy also loved nightly card games with their friends.

Beloved wife of the late, Frederick Alexander Pottie (2015) with whom she shared 40 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Joseph & Flossie Hollett.

She is survived by her, brother Leonard (Marilyn) Hollett; step-aunts, Jane McCluskey and Sheila (Roger) Crooks; sons, Stephen (Sharon) Richardson, Eric (Trudy) Richardson, Jamie Richardson; daughters, Diane Gregory (Steve), Patricia (Robert) Hewitt; stepdaughter, Carol Webb, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by brothers, Eldon, Walter; sister, Florena; her first born daughter, Nancy (Jim) McGean; grandson, Jamie Gregory; stepsons, Henry and Ivan Pottie.

Kathleen will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the care she received this past year from the staff at Glasgow Hall, Dartmouth. The highlight of her week was playing Bingo on Friday afternoon.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
