Dina Christodoulou Obituary

EULOGY

1959 - 2025

Dina was grateful for each new day God had given her and said so.

She had a great love and respect for nature. She loved to see healthy trees growing, a bird in flight, deer grazing.

She fulfilled many roles in her life. That of a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and provider for three children and a grandmother.

Dina loved life in and of itself.

One could say she loved all the little things in life such as a greeting from someone, the devotion of a pet, a gesture of affection from a relative or friend, her granddaughter blowing kisses to her.

But these are not little things. To Dina, these are what mattered most.

Paul Beck

To Dina with love,

It is very hard to believe, -it seems like a lie- to say the last "goodbye" to you.

You left behind three children, Rachel, Athena and Adrian and your granddaughter Rhea (whom you loved so much), and you left your mark, your DNA, flowing in their veins, and therefore your path from this life continues through them.

Your life was full of hardship. And you did everything you could to raise your children, always trying to cope with life’s challenges. As a young girl, you did not live happily, you only took joy from those children's smiles and hugs. Then the children grew up, as always happens and flew away from you, but your thoughts and concern were always with them.

Fortunately, Paul came into your life, this sweet man who gave you security, love, and companionship again, albeit late... You had emotional peace in your life in these last years, and for that, we are all grateful to him. I hope he will find courage and endure your loss because he, more than anyone else, will feel your absence the most… Your home will no longer be the same without you. And Thanasakis, your beloved dog, for whom you did everything you could to be well and happy, will be looking for you… he will also feel your absence. Your brothers, Michalis, Titos, and Timos, who know well what you went through… in your life, are now saying goodbye to you and even though you left so suddenly and quickly, they think that if nothing else, you did not suffer at the end, you left without pain… Life hurt you enough. Now you will rest, and if there is another life, perhaps you will go to the arms of your parents, your mother Stefania who kept a watchful eye on you, but also your father Giorgos who had a special love and care for you since you were his only daughter. He knew how much you were tortured and was by your side and your children as much as he could.

Dearest Dina, I have known you in recent years and we have spoken many times during the weeks, you had spoken to me about so many things, but I have never once heard you complain, blame anyone or bemoan. You had a positive look on everything, you were full of kindness for everyone. You have had a deep love for people but also genuine love and concern for nature, animals, plants and trees.

Today we say goodbye to you, we the hope that perhaps we will see you again in other more peaceful and happier circumstances. Have a good journey to the light and be sure that no one will forget you.

You will live in our memory and hearts forever. Rest in peace, may your memory be eternal.

Michael, Titos & Eliza

My name is Athena.

I am the daughter of Dina. I am saddened by the passing of my mother but I celebrate her life. She was a special person. Our relationship as mother and daughter was always true. When she left Montreal to go to Nova Scotia I was happy for her because I knew she’d be at the beach which was a place she loved to be. It made her happy. I remember as a child when I went to Cyprus. It was a beautiful country with great weather. Some of my fondest memories were at the beach where we ate koupa’s and ice cream. I can remember the taste of the food and the ocean breeze. I also loved going to the greek festivals in Parc ex. Montreal. Many memories float through time and space and they live on forever. Whereever she is now, I wish peace for her. Love you. Athena

I love her and I will remember her for ever ❤️

Thank you for all you did for me when we where growing up together

My dear Dina,

You left the world of the living too soon but while here your presence on earth was a blessing to all of us. Your humanity, love of young people, love of animals and all living things was contagious and a source of admiration. Your courage and strength were exemplary. Despite all the great challenges that life threw at you, you made it and made a difference around you. You will be remembered as a great person. Your devotion to your family, your animals and plants was a source of inspiration. You made the world better around you.

I remember when we met the first time, you were living nearby with your beautiful three teenagers and four cats, may be five I don't remember and a lot of plants. Your place was a paradise for living things and you were always enchanted by the beauty of this world. Myself and my boys were always happy and grateful to see you around. It was always reassuring having you nearby. Your relation with my young boy Daniel was especially beautiful to see. My both boys have great memories of you.

You moved to another place and found happiness with Paul. I saw the effects of this gentlemen on you. Life became better and easier. Afterwards, you move further away with Paul to beautiful Nova Scotia. You and Paul adopted a little doggy that I heard so much about. That is how I remember you my dear Dina, Dina the one loving all living things and also Dina the resourceful and survivor.

I am planning to join you up there along with my ancestors and visit you from time to time. Just be patient, it may take a while but be certain that I will be searching for you.

I will never forget you my dear friend Dina.

Claude Bouchard, your friend forever.

Dina was an inspiration to me and everyone who knew her, because even though she had experienced some rough things in her life, she always looked on the bright side, and put her faith in the Lord.

Dina often shared with me the love she had for her children, and her immense pleasure in becoming a grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

I was Dina's neighbour for a few short years when she lived in Poinre-Claire.

We struck up a friendship, no doubt while she was walking her little dog.

She had a unique and positive outlook on life. Always grateful for each new day God gave her.she was full of personality, sensitive, and she made me laugh. Her faith was strong and it got her through all hardships.

Good-bye friend. Happy travels, til we meet again.

Love, Kathy (Janes)

I just wanted to take a moment to say a few words. We didn’t know each other super well, but in the times we did cross paths, she was always kind, always had a smile, and seemed to genuinely care about the people around her.

Even in short conversations or quick hellos, you could tell she had a good heart. Sometimes, those small interactions stick with you more than you'd expect. And I think that says something about the kind of person she was.

It’s clear that her presence made a difference in people’s lives. I may not have known her well, but I’m grateful I got the chance to meet her aty all.

May her soul rest in peace.

Dina has an eternal place in my heart for the warmth and joy she shared with me. Her firecracker personality and her deep passion for food meant we always enjoyed each other's company. I met Paul and Dina in Wolfville at the health food store I worked at. When they'd visit we'd chat for ages about many things in life. It was refreshing to meet someone with such pizzazz and willingness to be authentic with her thoughts and questions. She loved so openly and clearly, not afraid to share her affection. I'll miss her dearly and will take her with me wherever I go and share every meal I eat with her.

Love you Dina, your friend Zeus xxx
