Glace Bay

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Carl MacDonald, age 75 at home on Sunday April 13, 2025.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Crawford and Josephine MacDonald. Carl was a devoted member of St. Anne’s Parish and could be found in the pews every morning rain or shine. He spent his days taking long walks and enjoying his coffee outing at his favorite restaurants. Carl was a man of deep faith and a very gentle soul.

He is survived by his sister, Bobbie Bullock (Terry); niece, Susan (MacLean) Borden (Graham); as well as two great nieces, one great nephew, 8 great great nieces and nephews.

The family of Carl wish to extend our sincere thanks to all who expressed their sympathies, your gestures of kindness have been a great comfort. We are especially grateful to Carl’s St. Anne’s church family, his friends at the apartment building especially Judy Snow and Sargent Jack Burke, your support and professionalism brought peace and dignity during a very difficult time. Please know that every act of kindness has not gone unnoticed and is deeply appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at St. Anne’s Church, Main St., Glace Bay with Fr. MacLeen officiating.
