Elizabeth 'Betty' (MacEachern) Raniseth
1952 – April 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Louise
'Betty' Raniseth nee MacEachern, who passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025,
at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
She was a proud graduate of St. Michael’s High School, Class of 1970, and went
on to earn her Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University in 1973.
Betty spent her working career at the Bank of Nova Scotia. She worked in various capacities in Halifax, Calgary and Sydney.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Raniseth, and her sisters:
Doreen (Mike) Burke, Halifax, NS, Phyllis (Ron) Jackson, Summerside, PEI, Jean MacEachern, Glace Bay; brothers: John Roy (Nancy), Berwick, NS, and Neil (Mary), Sackville, NB and sister-in-law Louise. She is also very fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many cherished friends.
Besides her parents John Hugh MacEachern and Mary Christine MacEachern nee MacDonald; Betty was predeceased by her sister Patricia Anne MacEachern; brother, Gordon Joseph MacEachern and her nephew, Neil Brennan MacEachern, who passed away in infancy.
Betty’s life was one marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She was always putting others first and was known for her nurturing nature.
Betty’s legacy is one of compassion, quiet strength, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cremation and interment have already taken place.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held 11:00 Monday, July 21, 2025 at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
