Ruby Martin Mackie Obituary

Ruby Monica Martin Mackie

Dominion

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Ruby, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at home. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Patricia (Nearing) Martin. During the last few years Ruby suffered with Asthma and COPD which she fought everyday.

Ruby will be forever missed by the love of her life, Robert Mackie; siblings, Eddie (Karen), Mary (John), George (Marg), John (Danielle), Roy (Gerri). Charlene (Ron). Brother-in-law, Brian (Valerie); two sons, Jason and Richard, three grandchildren, special aunt Ursula Finlayson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, Charles and Patricia Martin; her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Joan Mackie; sister-in-law, Kim.

Ruby’s favorite thing to do was to cook a great meal, usually cooking more than one meal. She loved going shopping especially in thrift stores with her sister, as everything old was made to look new again.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, (902-849-4199). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NS Lung Association or a charity of choice.
