Sharon (Steele) Harrietha
Dominion, N.S.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon (Steele) Harrietha of Dominion, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in the New Waterford Hospital.
Born and raised in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Colin and Mary (O’Handley) Steele.
Sharon met her one true love Joe Harrietha whom she married and travelled overseas while he served in the Army. Sharon missed Cape Breton dearly, and was so happy to return home in the 80’s upon Joe’s retirement, and settled in Dominion, N.S.
Along with her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her son Darryl Harrietha, stepdad Sam Anderson, sisters Diane Turnbull, Donna Currie, and Mary Stanley, brothers Johnny Steele, Francis Steele, and Jimmy McNeil.
Sharon is survived by several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and held a special bond with her youngest niece Kelly Turnbull.
Special thank you to the staff on the Second Floor of the New Waterford Hospital, who went beyond to care for Sharon, thank you to Dr. Lang for taking care of her in her final days.
Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. There will be no services at this time.
