With heavy hearts we the family announce the sudden passing of Tom Young on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at home.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Richard and Hannah (McDonald) Young.

Thomas recently retired from Cove Guest Home where he was employed as a CCA.

Tom is survived by his son, Walter Young, and daughter Rita Young (James Gilliam); sisters, Carol Anne (Ray) Whitmore, Brampton and Rita (Joe) Kubat, Mississauga; grandchildren, Brody Dawn Denny, Abigail and Mila Gilliam as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Michael, sister Patricia West and niece Tonya Young.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will take place 10:00 am Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Anne’s Church, Main St., Glace Bay with Fr. MacLeen officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Glace Bay, NS
