James Edward Davies, 81
Donkin
It is with a heavy heart that we the family announce the peaceful passing of our beloving dad, James ‘Jim’ Davies, age 81, on Thursday, March 27th 2025, at the QE2 Hospital in Halifax, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, NS, he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Davies.
Dad was a kind and compassionate soul who loved his children, grand children and great grand children with all his heart and was very proud of each and everyone one of them. Family was everything to dad.
In Dads later years and up until his passing, he surrounded himself with the best bunch of ‘Golf Buddies’ a guy could ask for. Although there are too many to name, just know that you all held a very special place in his heart and Jimmy and I are very grateful for your friendship and for looking after him over the years. He really cherished his time with you guys.
Dad is survived by his son Jimmy ( Cheryl) and daughter Tammy ( Kyle) with whom he resided. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sondrea ( Callan), Justin ( Emily), Brandi ( Nick) and Tristan ( Jeni). He is also survived by his precious great grandchildren , Luna, Finley, Annalise, Matti, Andi and Jace. Jim is also survived by his brother in laws, Ernie ( Diane) Snow, Sandy ( Joyce) Snow, Walter ( Linda) Snow , Hughie ( Paulette) Snow, Carl Casperson, sister in law Myrna Davies, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, dad was predeceased by the love of his life, Martha ‘Marlie’ (Snow) Davies and by his father and mother in law, Ernie and Christina Snow, grandsons Douglas and Matthew Davies, brothers Fred and Bobby Davies, brother in laws Fred Snow, Bobby Snow, sister in laws Mary Casperson, Dorothy ‘Dot’ Davies, Thelma Snow, Kathy Snow and nephews Robert Davies, Stephen Snow and Allan Snow.
Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Glace Bay. As per dads wishes, there will be no visitation or service..
