Albert Joseph Messervey
Born November 26th, 1972 - March 24th 2025
We the family of Joey are so deeply saddened to announce his sudden
passing Monday, March 24th, 2025, at home. Joey was born in Stephenville, NFLD and then moved to Glace Bay, N.S.
He was predeceased by his father, Merril Messervey Senior.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Emberly Heffernan of New
Waterford, NS. His beloved children, Dylan, Makayla, and Mya. He is
also survived by his mother Patricia (O’Donnell) Messervey, his
siblings, brothers Merril and Scott and a sister Mary Pat and his best
little buddy Blake, who loved all of uncle Boogies toys just as much
as Joey did.
Joey was the most kind and generous person you would ever meet, he
would do anything for anyone. Joey’s first and most treasured
thing in his life was his children. Joey left for Alberta in his early
twenties to pursue a career in the oil fields. He did not stop just
there, he became a Red Seal pipefitter, a welder, and his last venture
was to become a crane operator, and if he wanted it, he was going to
get it. Whatever he put his mind too he accomplished.
In his spare time, Joey loved riding his Harleys, plowing and he loved
being on his tractor. He was an avid collector of anything that caught
his eye. He saw the value in what most people did not. He spent
countless hours everyday tinkering with anything automotive since he
was a child. He got great joy out of fixing what others thought was
impossible. If it moved at all, he would get it going. If the pearly gates
are squeaking, you can rest assured he is up there oiling the hinges for
those to follow.
