Donna Lee (MacKenzie) Wall was a person full of light and love. With her partner of 33 years, she remained devoted and loved deeply. She was always a ready companion for their annual trips to Florida where they so enjoyed their snowbird community. She created a loving family unit with her children, grandchildren and her great grandchild, delighting in all their accomplishments and experiencing great joy in their company. As a friend, she listened closely, cared deeply and shared much of herself, creating lifelong bonds. Her volunteer and outreach projects were always with intent of helping others and supporting community spirit. The world was greatly enriched by Donna’s presence especially for those who knew and loved her. May we all draw inspiration from her life. Born on June 5,1942, Donna Lee (MacKenzie) Wall passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, in the An Cala Palliative Care Unit surrounded by family love. She is survived by her adoring partner, John Daniel (Dinky) Cameron, and her children she shared with Leo Wall, daughter, Leeanne (Brent) and son, Glenn (Amanda). Also, survived by her grandchildren, Emma (Jesse) and Adam (Hannah); great grandchild Kensley; stepchildren, Kevin, Sylvia, Shelley, Kim and Amber; niece Margaret MacKay (Ron) and nephews, Jimmy Dawson (Carolyn), Donald Dawson (Barb), Richard Dawson (Elizabeth) and Kenzie Dawson (Cindy). Donna was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Marion (Townsend); sisters, Jean Dawson (Jim), Ann Louise Rochford (Robert) and nieces, Ashley Dawson Etherington (Andy) and Marion Dawson. Donna worked in administration at Sydney Steel, retiring from Cape Breton Development Corporation in 1993 after 32 years of service. She continued to work part time for Breton Business Center supporting many local businesses. She volunteered on the Advisory Board for UCCB and with Palliative Care. She had a long-time membership with CWL and Kinettes. She held the position as President of the Eastern Canada Division of the Professional Secretaries Association and was active in many other volunteer services throughout her lifetime. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 18th at the funeral home from 6 pm-9 pm. Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Wednesday, March 19th at Our Lady Fatima Parish in Sydney River. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting the T.J. Tracey Facebook page. Following the service, all are welcome to join the family for a reception in the church hall to celebrate Donna’s beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s name can be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or the Cape Breton Heart and Stroke Foundation.
