It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Tefferina MacDonald, 74, of Sydney, NS, at Hospice Cape Breton, on Saturday, February 22, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born in Toronto, Ont., Louise was the daughter of the late Hilda Hill and Harold MacDonald.

Mom was well known for her fashion sense and her impeccable interior design flair. Louise was always involved in volunteering with her close friends for various organizations. She worked alongside her daughter, Sharon, and co-owner of Second Floor Tanning with Judy Lawrence.

She is survived by her sons; Harold Mumford, Sudbury, ON, Scott Mumford (Ashley), Sydney; daughter, Sharon Mumford (Kamal), Vancouver; stepdaughter, Robin MacDonald, stepson, Sean MacDonald; brothers, Harold (Jane), Barrie, ON, Daniel (Denise), Toronto, ON,; sisters, Shirley Spurrell (Dave), St. Johns, NL, Sheri Wong (Donnie), London, ON, and; grandchildren, Connor Mumford, Keira Mumford, Jessica Mumford, Colin Mumford, and Jeremiah Mumford. She was predeceased by the love of her life, husband, Terrence MacDonald.

A very special thank you to Dr. Ann Francis D’Intino, the cancer team and Hospice Cape Breton staff. The family would like to thank her closest friends for visits and treats. Louise would like to personally thank her dear friend, Chuck Morrison, for being there.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at the funeral home, from 1-2 pm with funeral service following at 2 pm in the Chapel. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting the T.J. Tracey Facebook page. Interment at a later date.
