Roger Kenneth MacLeod Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Roger Kenneth MacLeod, 72, of Sydney, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney, Roger was the son of the late Albert and Catherine (MacDonald) MacLeod.


Roger worked at the Co-Op Food Store for over 40 years until they closed. He then went to work at the Sydney River Superstore retiring just last year. He loved going golfing with friends and for many years he played darts, bowling, baseball, and shuffleboard.


Roger is survived by sisters, Sandra (Fraser) Novak, and Florence Lowe, as well as several nieces and nephews.


Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Neil, James, Jackie, and George.

A special thanks to the ICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the Cancer Unit for all their care.


Donations in Roger’s name may be made to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.


Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. A Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 11, at 7 pm at the funeral home, Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
